DONNELLY RIVER VILLAGE TO BALINGUP SECTION INFO, DIVERSIONS AND GROUPS Updated: 2026-03-27 00:01 DIVERSIONS Campfires Prohibited – Blackwood Location: Balingup to Donnelly River Village Campfire bans are now in place at all campsites along this entire section including: - Blackwood - Gregory Brook Walkers will need to use their fuel stoves. Please note that campfires are prohibited all year round at the Blackwood Campsite due to it being situated in an extreme Fire Risk Area. Campfire bans are usually in force until at least March, and sometimes April, along the entire length of the Bibbulmun Track. During campfire bans, walkers are not permitted to light any campfires or wood operated stoves and should carry a fuel stove. Campfire bans are lifted based on weather and other conditions. During the summer months, when bushfires are a very real danger, a total fire ban may be declared. On these days, walkers are not permitted to light any fires whatsoever including lighting a fuel stove. For information about locations of current total fire bans visit Emergency WA. Diversion due to prescribed burn – Willow Springs Location: Between Brockman Hwy and Donnelly River Village The Bibbulmun Track is closed for 12.1km due to prescribed burning. A 11.3km diversion is in place along sections of Gold Gully, Stallard, Boundary and Sears Road. The Willow Springs picnic/camping area (as part of the Warren Blackwood Stock Route trail) will remain open. The original route will remain closed until declared safe. Download the map (PDF). For your safety DO NOT enter any closed trail, even if there are no indications of prescribed burning activity. Stay on the marked diversion and follow all signage or instructions from Parks and Wildlife staff. Walkers should be aware of fire operations vehicles and other traffic in the area. Gregory Brook Campsite Maintenance Works Location: North of Brockman Hwy Works are in progress at Gregory Brook campsite to increase the tent camping capacity. The shelter, toilet and most existing tent sites will remain available for use, but there may be some minor disruption and noise associated with the improvement works.
